Defense and Aviation

In line with our country’s 2023 targets, many projects are successfully completed within the scope of increasing the nationality rate in the defense industry and challenging project targets are set for new longer-term studies. In this context, ONAUS Foresight Technologies supports our national projects with the value-added studies it creates by creating the necessary software infrastructure in the fields of material information technologies, computational materials engineering, production and manufacturing simulations, multiphysics simulations and acoustic & vibration simulations in related defense industry projects.

Thermo-Calc

In defense industry applications, materials that require high temperature resistance are planned to be manufactured using different production methods (welding, forging, casting). Modeling the high temperature behavior of the material before the required manufacturing operations is a must. In this context, phase diagrams, cooling graphs, high temperature behavior models of the relevant engineering materials, phase diagrams, cooling graphs, high temperature behavior models of the relevant engineering materials are created with Thermo-Calc software, minimizing the number of possible tests planned to be carried out and significant savings in project time and cost items are obtained. Computational materials engineering studies are carried out for the mechanical, thermal and metallurgical changes of engineering materials under thermal effect. These studies have been transformed into value-added solutions in many defense industry projects such as DİLEK and ÖRS.

Forge NxT and Thercast NxT

In defense industry projects, complex production methods are used together to produce the final product. With Forge NxT and Thercast software solutions, ONATUS provides the necessary software infrastructure to digitally simulate the challenging manufacturing processes in our country’s defense industry projects, to observe possible errors and improvements, and to determine the possible effects of new techniques planned to be commissioned. For example, the domestic production of Inconel 718 material, the production of a super alloy used in aircraft engines by hot forming or forging, or the modeling of machine & part manufacturing stages with flow forming management. In this way, national production techniques can be developed rapidly by reducing trial and error costs.

VA One

Most of the companies operating in the field of aviation, naval and space systems of the defense industry use ONATUS’ software solutions that create added value within the scope of product development and R&D studies. For example, internal and external air flow modeling studies for aerodynamic performance or passenger seat development applications, or modeling the acoustic field around rocket – satellite systems during take-off and firing and observing the effects on structural elements. ONATUS develops turnkey solutions in the field of acoustic & vibration simulations by using different modeling techniques such as VA One, BEM, FEM, SEA and VA One software platform where analysis and simulation studies can be performed in the range of 0-40,000 Hz. ONATUS, which has competencies in the characterization of acoustic materials planned to be used in the continuation of simulation studies, develops comprehensive acoustic material projects with different software solutions such as MECANUM test systems and FOAM X – NOVA at the point of characterizing the acoustic properties of porous materials in its laboratories located in GOSB Teknopark.

In helicopter and naval systems applications, ONATUS solutions are frequently used in studies such as underwater acoustic simulation, modeling of cabin acoustic levels and modeling the effects of improvement proposals. In this context, ONATUS has made significant contributions to the establishment of the relevant software infrastructure in defense industry projects such as ATAK and MİLGEM.

Visualweld

In addition to basic welding applications, advanced joining techniques such as FSW (Friction welding) and laser welding are used in defense industry applications. In this context, many parameters such as welding distortion (Distortion), residual stress, thermal temperature distribution, phase transformations occurring in the material during welding, crack risk zones can be modeled in the simulation environment by using Visualweld software in the ONATUS production simulation technologies range and possible errors and risk zones can be identified. In ALTAY, our national tank project, ONATUS has carried out high value-added studies in the creation of welding behaviors of different components of the tank system.
